1.] The state SCOPE banquet will be held on October 16. This annual event was not scheduled last year due to the pandemic. It will be held at Breezes Banquet Center on 215 Leland Ave. in Utica, NY. The keynote speaker will be none other than Lt. Col. Oliver North. A Tour of Remington Arms Co. Museum & Factory will occur earlier in the day and is included in the cost of the banquet ticket. There will be an opportunity to meet Col. North between 4 pm and 6 pm.
2.] The state website (scopeny2a.org) contains a complete list of activities along with a Banquet Ticket Order Form. Tickets may also be purchased directly on-line. Ticket sales are limited and prior to July sales of tickets were for members ONLY. Ticket sales opened to the public beginning on August 1st. Lodging is available at 3 local hotels/motels. Accommodations are listed on the SCOPE website.
3.] WCS will hold a members meeting on October 13th at the normal time of 7 PM in the Marion Legion Post. Our focus will be on chapter committees. Members will hold committee meetings that evening during the regular meeting.
4.] Please bring the money collected for your sales of State SCOPE's Gun Raffle AND ticket stubs. These must be turned in to the state before the banquet where the drawing will be held.
5.] One of our goals is EDUCATION to further the public's understanding of our civil and Constitutional rights and attempts by government to infringe upon those rights. "WE THE PEOPLE" does NOT mean the "Government". Recall the words of George Washington: "The power under the Constitution will always be in the people."
6.] Voter information for the November elections will be available at our October 13 meeting.
