Louis F. "Lou" Parrotta UTICA — Louis “Lou” Parrotta, a well-known historian, educator, and dedicated community volunteer in the Mohawk Valley, died on Tuesday, June 3, following a brief and unexpected illness. He was 51. Parrotta served as the official historian for the city of Utica and was a longtime history teacher at Thomas R. Proctor High School after beginning his career in education at Rome Catholic Junior/Senior High School. His deep knowledge of local history and commitment to civic engagement made him a prominent figure across the city and the region. In 2021, Lou gave a fantastic presentation about the history of Savage Arms. |
