If you, or anyone you know, may be interested in starting one, please contact SCOPE President, John Elwood.

Hope all is well and finding everyone doing good. As you read through this monthly update, take a minute to think about your last training session or practice and go over what you liked about it, or didn't like about it. Can you do better? What do you want to improve or correct?

You should ask these questions all the time. You know the adage, you get out of it, what you put into it! That's very true when it comes to shooting. Whether for competition, hunting or personal protection, you have to put in the time. Watching videos and reading articles is good, but ultimately, you have to do it!

The piece of advice I'm going to give you this month...Don't look at training as a gauge of your abilities, look at it as a stepping stone to perfection!

The mission of the WRGC Education Committee is to provide members, their families and the community at large with various educational courses to enhance their understanding of federal, state and local laws, as well as conservational updates in addition to providing instruction in the safe use and handling of firearms and proper marksmanship.

If you are a certified instructor in any discipline and interested in teaching, please contact one of the Education Committee Co-Chairs to be included on the WRGC list of instructors.

Hope all is well and you're staying warm, or as warm as can be.

  We have been spoiled
here in the Northeast for quite a few years. We are staying positive that the weather will turn the corner soon and lead to a nice spring season.

Along those lines, we have opened registration for our May Women On Target and already have a few sign-ups.

Same with our Concealed Carry series of courses. We do limit space in these courses, but attendees find them fun and challanging. Giving you the ability to draw from a holster, shoot at steel targets, moving targets and even have you shooting on the move. Take a look and see if there's one that fits your schedule.

We already had a ONE-DAY only NYS Pistol Permit course in January, our first of this year, fourth overall!! 2BearArms is the only firearm training company offering the 18hr NYS Pistol Permit course in one day!

While it's certainly not for everybody, many folks find it a good option for getting the NYS required training done in one shot. (pun intended)

Our next one is scheduled for Saturday, April 11th and a few spots are still available.

We are adding another course for 2026, Less Lethal Personal Protection. This course was developed as a result of requests from you for alternatives and further training beyond the Refuse To Be A Victim course.

The 2BearArms Less Lethal Personal Protection course focuses on alternative tools to incapacitate targets with lower risk of fatality compared to firearms. We discuss and try Byrna Tools, pepper spray and more.

For our full schedule of courses, please check our website at www.train2beararms.com. Here's a snapshot of upcoming course below.
