Scope Report September 2026

I wish to thank everyone that came to our August meeting to hear from our guest speaker, Assemblyman Chris Friend. Chris spoke at length concerning our rights in Albany, and enforcement of existing laws. Conversation ensued with the membership in attendance, a very good meeting. Thanks to Chris for coming.

And for our next chapter meeting on October 28, 2026 at Pine City Sportsmen’s Club 6:30pm our guest speaker is NYS Senator Thomas O’Mara. Tom actually requested to come and speak with us, we are glad to have him. Attached is the flyer for this event. Please distribute as much as possible.

In other news, I’ve initiated talks with Tioga County Sportsmen's Association, to see if we could collaborate as a joint chapter of SCOPE. While I haven’t heard back yet on their decision, I look forward to the possibility of adding another county into Scope representation.

The SCOPE annual Banquet is on September 26 at Palmyra VFW. Chemung County Scope is participating with donations to the fund-raising auctions, including a donation from Scott’s Guns in Horseheads. We look forward to hearing from the guest speakers, candidates in the upcoming elections. There is still time to get your reservation in to attend.
